Good afternoon everyone! Well, Scott’s off for the next two weeks so now we have Greg to listen to in the afternoons. So, what surprises do we get from the legend? Well, for a start, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders come in and chat to Greg about nonsense. Then we learn that we’ve all been pronouncing Taio Cruz’s name wrong and what he requests on appearences; the first day of Switch Live promotion. Greg speaks about still being homeless, and a riddle about cats.

I’m going to be honest here and say that I was really surprised when I actually got down to putting the podcast together today. For the most part, it has been really hard for me to get past the usual 25-30 minutes and sometimes I have to add some filler (but that is still entertaining) so it stays at about the same time. However, the podcast that came out the other day was packed with more than usual (Afternoon shows are usually 15-25 minutes long compared to Early Breakfast). I can say the same with this one aswell, and that I actually had to omit some stuff so it’d fit in a hour without getting rid of the main stuff that happened this week.
As usual, we open up with another installment of The Wind Tunnel; followed by a discussion of a Headphone Disco Greg recently hosted. Nabil then tells Greg about the recent comment I (me, the podcast creator - Jessica) left him on Facebook as a joke; Producer Phil gets to go to the Soap Awards because Greg had to fill in for Chappers; then comes a long rant about an incident on the train, how something as simple as leaves cause delay, and how pointless electric cars are. Greg gets to lift the Tower Bridge; we get a brap, a flash, flash, and a welcome along on BBC Three Counties Radio; we hear Producer Neil on The Chris Moyles Show; State of the Heart has a version of Gangsta’s Paradise?!; and Welcome Along overload. Tom Bateman’s music is requested on Free For All Friday, and something that really doesn’t fit anywhere.

I’m doing podcasts for the next two weeks aswell, they should be up the same day (don’t have much else to do really, haha) just after three hours after it appears on iPlayer. I’ll try and record it live, but it may end up buffering because my laptop is getting old and slow (even though I have 40 GB left on it).
By the way, thanks to Dan and Kyle for helping me out with editing the images after my computer failed to open Photoshop, it is much appreciated!

Sorry for the downtime, I should have mentioned that we were getting put on a dedicated server. My old hosting account expires later on today and I wasn’t really keen on all the problems I was having with that company. The host that I’m on now said that because we use a large amount of space and bandwidth with the podcasts and clips (that are going to be up by the end of the weekend hopefully) that there was no way they were going to be able to afford to put me on a regular reseller (as we take up almost what the whole company has for those clients).
Since this site has opened, we have gotten just about 700,000 hits (since the end of February) and just the fact that every month has clips that range from 500 MB to 1 GB in total, if 2,000 people downloaded them, we’d be in the terabyte range. I want to be able to have all the podcasts be downloadable, but I noticed that when I did post them up the other day, it was about 500 MB all together and of course, someone wanted them all (I don’t blame them!).
So yeah, the site should be able to take the 16,000 people logging on again without any problem, at least hopefully. We’ll just see what happens.
New podcast episode out late Friday/Early Saturday.

Hi, just to let you know, yes I’m still doing the podcasts. Everyone’s been asking for both the new and old episodes on a daily basis and it’s going to come back pretty soon. Everything from the last seven months are on my external hard drive and I’m slowly getting all those bits uploaded (it’s like 1 GB of stuff per month).
And now that he’s just said it, I’m going to start posting up the links to all the podcasts so far (might be a few minutes).
EDIT: Here’s the folder for now while I get the names, etc.
EDIT 2: There’s still some episodes uploading, there’s some episodes that I think I never put up (they’re not listed as ever being on the feed), I’ll see if they’re worthy enough to put up. 95% of all the afternoon shows are listed on this post.
EDIT 3: Pretty much done, I’ll have a look at the other files sitting around and get them up ASAP. If you have problems downloading, just leave a quick comment or e-mail me at webmaster@gregjames.org. There shouldn’t be transfer issues, 2,000 people can easily download every file and we’d still not top the 750 GB limit I have. If that happens, well, I have the other domain to fall back on.

Mills has called in sick at last minute so Greg’s forced to do another three hour shift (but I doubt there’s many that weren’t happy with it anyway!). The One Who Doesn’t Speak finds some footage of Katy Perry’s nan (Grandma for the Americans) reading the lyrics to “I Kissed a Girl”; Becky finds a dodgy folder on her boyfriend’s computer who then calls her up to say what it really is; Greg finds a video of a radio station that catches fire and gives a tour of the studio with the Head Cam (Chappers narrating); There’s also Oh! What’s Occurring? and Becky’s Classified Ads.

Sorry for not getting the podcast out as usual, I just bought the software that I use to record the shows (I had 10 minute limitations, but now I can record the whole show in one go) and it came with some nice clipping software that doesn’t modify the quality of files. It was really hard to get used to though, but it’s really nice, just kinda annoyed about the burps between clips. I’ll see if I can fix that for next week’s podcast.
Greg Whiley opens the podcast, Greg debuts a genius new game dealing with toilet humour, and turns off the station. Westwood does the weather, the alphabet game returns, and Greg discovers something. Greg goes to a Kylie concert (not dressed as her of course), and more Free For All Friday!

Oh yes, we come to another week of the Early Breakfast show on BBC Radio 1 which is coming close to being called the Greg James and Laura Tobin show, well not quite! Producer Neil phones up Laura to talk about Mallorca and Greg talks about his trip, doing karaoke, and filming Vanessa Feltz secretly. Greg goes to parliament, talks about wrestling and politics, and considers his feature as a Member of Parliament. There’s also more Newsbeat sillyness and Free For All Friday!

Greg’s back on Early Breakfast after two weeks of covering for Scott Mills, what became of the horrible spray tan? Rebecca Pukiello and Tom Bateman join him in the usual Newsbeat after update sing along and banter, and Greg plays the celebrity alphabet game with listeners. There’s Free For All Thursday since Greg was in Mallorca with Judge Jules and Dave Pearce on Friday, and much more including the workman who got what he deserved.

It’s the last day of Greg’s cover for Scott which means it’s the last flash flash for the daytime. So what does that mean? The whole office gets a go at it! Greg also has got a very bad spray tan that he was forced to get earlier in the day (we can blame Scott Mills for that one). It’s the last day of T In The Park promotion, but who is it? Well, she did say thsat she might have a ‘Miniature Disaster’ with her clothes tonight.
